Did you ever read a book in the waiting room at the doctor’s office as a child? I am Cecelia Murphy, a Wayland High School student and volunteer, and I am collecting books for patients at the MetroWest Free Medical Program so that children visiting the clinic as a patient or with their parents may also have this experience. Children will be able to read books while they are waiting, and will have the opportunity to bring a book home to assure that they practice reading skills. I am looking for donations of all types of gently used children’s books, including:

  • Board books & picture books
  • Early readers
  • Older elementary & middle-school age books.

I also hope to buy a storage unit for books, and purchase some books in Spanish and Portuguese to be sure that families can read together, so financial contributions to the clinic for that purpose are welcomed.  We’ll be collecting books now through January. Please leave book donations in the box near the office at the Temple. Thank you for your donations and support!
