To welcome Cantor Vera, our congregants are making a Welcome Book. Whether you had a photo taken at Beth El recently or not, we encourage everyone to make a welcome page for her. We are using a website called Newlywords to create and compile our introductions. Their site has several templates for you to pick from and makes the process easy. You will be able to upload many photos and use creative designs for your page, if you like. Most congregants will want to upload several photos of family members and other meaningful things—pets, gardens, Ph.D. dissertations, etc.
Jordan Oshlag has created instructions and a video that offer the simplest method for creating a page. These instructions and video can be found HERE.
Once you go to our “Welcome Book for Cantor Vera” page on the Newlywords site, you can click on “Check out what others have contributed” to see pages from Jordan and others to get ideas. Some templates allow more text and some allow more pictures. Jordan used the Designed Layout for his.
Next, select and upload photos. Then for text, here are ideas for what you can write to introduce yourselves to Cantor Vera:
Jordan has offered to answer questions at jordanoshlag@gmail.com. Susan Cohen, a member with lots of computer experience, has offered to answer questions and help upload. Email her at susanbcohen@pm.me.
