Beth Schine, Temple Administrator (she/her)

Beth has been part of the Beth El community since 1994. She has taught in the religious school, served as interim principal, been an active lay leader, and served on the Board of Directors, including as President. Most recently, Beth held the position of Education Coordinator for four years. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, cooking, and kayaking.

Beth and her wife Pam McArthur have a son, Aaron, who grew up at Beth El, starting in the preschool and graduating with his Siyyum class (12th grade).

Carolyn Tobin, Bookkeeper

Carolyn has been the Bookkeeper at Beth El since 2008. Because of the friendly community & family atmosphere of the temple, she has enjoyed being a part of the Beth El staff for the past 9 years.

Carolyn earned her Bachelors degree in Accounting from Fitchburg State University, and a Masters in Accountancy from Bentley College. Outside of work, Carolyn loves spending time with her husband, Tom, and their three teenage sons. Carolyn’s oldest son is in his freshman year at Clemson University, and although never a sports fan herself, Carolyn has recently become a diehard Clemson Tiger’s football team fanatic.

Josimar Pereira, Facility Maintenance

Josimar Pereira, from Minas Gerais, Brazil, has been taking good care of our building and grounds since 2011. He loves big celebrations and the High Holidays at Beth El because he gets to see so many of us together.

Josimar also owns the business K & K Landscape, www.kklandscapecleaning.com.

In his spare time, Josimar likes to play soccer and eat Brazilian barbecue. When you see him, ask him about his favorite restaurants!

Svetlana, Secretary

Svetlana is originally from Moldova, where she spent the first 15 years of her life. Then her family immigrated to Israel. She completed high school, army and started university before finally settling in Massachusetts 20 years ago.

Her professional background includes Hebrew University of Jerusalem and UMass-Boston, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in management.

In her spare time, she loves to cook different cuisines. She also gives kids sewing and embroidery lessons through a local nonprofit Jewish organization.
