Bending the Criminal (In)justice System Towards Justice

When

Sunday, October 24, 2021
10:00am - 11:30am

Join us to learn from two extraordinary women – Stacey Borden, Founder and Executive Director of New Beginnings Re-Entry Services and Latanya Henderson, Founder and Executive Director of All Things Art, Inc. Formerly incarcerated, Ms. Borden and Ms. Henderson will teach us what it’s like to be in prison, how imprisonment affects women and their families, and how mass incarceration targets Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color. You will learn about the State’s plans to spend up to $50 million to build a new women’s prison (when incarceration rates are at an all-time low), and how you can take action to support a five-year moratorium on building new prisons and jails.
