Beth El’s First Ever Beer Tasting Event

When

Sunday, August 15, 2021
5:00pm - 7:00pm

What could be more “Beth El” than celebrating innovations rooted in a solid traditional foundation! And what could celebrate summer (and being together after somewhat eased pandemic restrictions) than beer on a hot afternoon!

We will taste several traditional beers from Europe and compare each of them to a local New England craft variety based on each tradition.

Matt Santarpio is a local beer expert who will explain the history and regional roots of each style of traditional beer, identify unique taste elements of each style, and explore similarities and differences from locally brewed ‘modern takes’ on the original. Total beer consumed will be one pint or less.

Register now (by August 5th)

Pandemic Precautions: Vaccination required for all attendees over 18. Event will be outdoors in the Beth El Garden, and tent provided in case of rain.

Price: $36 per-person (includes presentation, beer tasting, plus light dinner). Children under 18: free! (food, but no beer obviously)

Maximum capacity: 50 people

Walnut Market is a Specialty Shop in Newton Highlands, featuring a unique combination of eclectic food & a carefully curated selection of beer & wine. Owner Matt Santarpio took over the store in January 2020 after 2 years as a wine distributor & 5 years managing traditional liquor stores. He has led beer tastings all over Massachusetts, and is generously donating his time and expertise for this Beth El event.
