Interfaith Bible study in honor of Dr. King

When

Monday, January 16, 2023
7:30pm - 9:00pm

Rabbi Josh Breindel and Pastor Sheila Sholes-Ross (senior pastor, First Baptist Church of Pittsfield) are excited to co-host an interfaith Bible study event (Zoom only) in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Inspired by Dr. King’s call to work actively for justice in our day, we will begin by reading an excerpt from his “I Have a Dream” speech. Drawing on his reference to Amos 5:24, we’ll explore how this verse can be understood (and embodied) from both Jewish and Christian perspectives. Participants will be invited to engage actively in this study, sharing their own perspectives and stories of stepping forward for justice.

This will be the first in a series with the rabbi and the pastor — stay tuned for our next conversation on slavery, freedom and redemption at Passover/Easter!
