What is Ableism and How Can We Navigate It Jewishly?

Rabbi Lauren Tuchman will give a general overview of ableism. In conversation with Jewish values and sources, we will learn together how as a Jewish community we can navigate and ultimately confront ableism from a uniquely Jewish perspective. In addition, she will be basing her talk partially on “Claiming Disability,” a chapter of the just-published book, Loving Our Own Bones: Disability Wisdom and the Spiritual Subversiveness of Knowing Ourselves Whole by Rabbi Julia Watts Belser.
